While depressing many, the current, undeniably failing state of the music industry has
given the founders of Riker Hill Records new hope. It has opened the field for innovative
thinking at an independent level. A new type of label bridging the gap and boasting a
philosophy that hearkens back to the heyday of the great record companies while
keeping a firm foot in the present and taking advantage of the commando mentality
of the best indie labels: superior talent scouting, economical music
production values, imaginative marketing and promotion as well
as intensive artist development and album support through touring.
Riker Hill Records is not a company borne on the premise of the one-hit wonder or the
singular and elusive triple platinum artist supporting uncountable failures. Rather, it is a
reinvention of artist longevity. Riker Hill Records’ goal is to create
the new wave of “catalog” artists while building tomorrow’s legends.
